Tushek, a Slovenian manufacturer, has recently opened the order books for its hybrid TS900 Apex hypercar, which is great news for those who missed out on a Koenigsegg One:1.

What exactly is it? Tushek is a name you've probably never heard of. Or how about the TS900 Apex?

Of course, we're joking. Aljoa Tushek, a Slovenian racing driver, launched the company in 2008, and we first saw the TS900 in August of this year. There were reports at the time that the 4.2-liter V8 and twin electric motor arrangement would deliver 950bhp to all four wheels, while a carbon-fibre spaceframe and body would keep the weight down to 1,410kg.

Now, astute mathematicians will notice, those statistics do not meet the 1:1 claim, but there is good news.

Tushek claims that the new TS900 produces over 1,350bhp and weighs under 1,350kg, and it will make its global debut at Salon Privé London next week. That's all there is to it.

The claim is that this is the lightest hybrid hypercar on the market, with a "patented electric drive system" that "utilizes aviation-derived electric drive technologies, combined with a high-performance ICU" and "the world's highest power density powertrain." We're aware that there are a lot of quotation marks there. We'll hold our judgment until we've had a chance to get behind the wheel.

The TS900 Apex will be manufactured in limited numbers, with each one costing £1.25 million. According to reports, there will also be a TS 900 RacerPro, a track-only variant limited to 12 units with a power-to-weight ratio of 1.13:1.
